Magical St. Augustine Date Night

A few weeks ago, hubby and I set off to have a different-than-normal date night in the historic city of St. Augustine. We ate an early dinner at Ice Plant, then walked to the heart of the city to see the twinkling Nights of Lights displays. Read all about it via the link below, as I wrote the post as a guest blogger for Jacksonville Mom!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Hi friends! I am thankful that I had the opportunity to write a post about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for Jacksonville Beach Moms a couple of weeks ago. I had such a blast with my 5 year old exploring the party, figuring out how things work and seeing all the shows. It was a special time for the two of us, and I loved every minute of it. Here’s the link to the official post! Please check it out and let me know what you think of it!

Experience the (Free) Disney Magic at Christmas!

I am so honored to have been able to write a post for Jacksonville Mom. We had a blast doing “research,” and I am so excited to share the link to the post below. Check it out and let me know what you think! We love Disney so much, and being able to experience the magical-ness (yes that’s now a word haha) of it for free was very fun! What You Need to Know About Oga’s Cantina in Walt Disney World

Go, you must. Try drinks, you must. Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars Land at Hollywood Studios is a must do on your trip to the most magical place on earth! I’ll be honest- my husband and I are not die hard Star Wars fans. We watch the movies when they come out, and I grew up watching Luke Skywalker find his father, but we are not fanatics by any means. HOWEVER, we are SUPER impressed by Galaxy’s Edge. The amount of detail put into the land is just astounding. Every inch is themed to the nines. It’s quite breath taking.

Congaree and Penn Visit the Farm Day

Yee haw!!! On Saturday we had the pleasure of spending time at an amazing location right in our own backyard here in Jacksonville. I had heard a lot about Congaree and Penn, so I just had to take the family and check it out! As stated on their website, “Congaree and Penn is a Florida farm dedicated to agriculture and culinary endeavors, and gathering the community to enjoy both.” I will admit I was expecting a jam packed event with bright colors and loud music, and I found the opposite. Congaree and Penn is a serene, calming oasis with 350

ABBQ!

Ya’ll! Move over, there’s a new BBQ joint in town, and man is it delicious! ABBQ recently moved in to the Atlantic Beach neighborhood here in Jacksonville, and guys, they serve meat by the pound! It’s Texas style, and the meat just melts.in.your.mouth. The set up and how they move you through is slightly different than most restaurants, but once we got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing! You are greeted when you walk in, and told the seating is first come, first serve. If you want to order meat by the pound (or half pound, or several

Two Scoops Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Who doesn’t love tasty, creamy ice cream?? Well, on Anna Maria Island there are several places we can go to get this sugary dessert, but our very favorite is Two Scoops Ice Cream, found on S. Bay Blvd, near the Anna Maria City Pier (which is currently under construction after being destroyed during Hurricane Irma back in 2017). Two Scoops offers 32 flavors of ice cream! That’s a lot of choices! Our favorites are: mint chocolate chip, superman (vanilla with fun food coloring), muddy sneaker (vanilla with peanut butter cups

Blue Marlin Seafood Restaurant

There are so many yummy restaurants to choose from here on Anna Maria Island, but I have to say our fave for a “fancy” but still relaxed meal (because, after all, we are at the beach) is the Blue Marlin Seafood Restaurant in Bradenton Beach, FL. The decor is nautical, cozy, comfy (my kids argued about who would sit on the cushioned side of the table), and homey. There are several different rooms, and there are many pictures from fishing adventures by friends and family. The restaurant was opened in 2011, and the reason for so many rooms is that
