They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. Having colorful pictures with nobody photobombing them is worth even more words! Florida has so many Instagram worthy walls! I can’t possibly show all of them (though I am on a mission to find as many as possible), but here are some of our favorites. My family and I scouted some of the happiest ones here in Jacksonville, Florida and I’m also going to show some from the most magical place on earth as well (aka Walt Disney World). But if you can’t make it to either of these places any time soon, why not make your own Insta-worthy wall? Read on to find out how to DIY your own wall in your own home.
Jacksonville, Florida Walls
Jellyfish Wall and Sunflower Wall (4045 Post Street Jacksonville, FL 32205)
These two walls are found in the Murry Hill area of Jacksonville, behind J & W Discount Store. We focused on the Sunflower Wall during our trip, but we will be back to the Jellyfish side once we find the perfect outfit! The Jellyfish Wall is by Meredith Sullivan.
The Sunflower mural is extra beautiful because it has glasswork in it. In the center of the flowers are gems that make the whole wall just shine! The wall was painted by Brenda Kato and the glasswork is by Mary Allegretti. Brenda Kato has named the mural “Bloom Where You Are Planted.”
Bee Mural
We happened upon this bee mural just a few buildings down from the Jellyfish and Sunflower Murals. Isn’t it so beautiful? I couldn’t bee- lieve my luck (sorry I had to), as we were taking pictures in our Bee Kind shirts from MVP Shirts.
The Hotel Palms (28 Sherry Dr, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233)
Hotel Palms is a boutique hotel I hope to stay at in the near future. It is walking distance to the Beaches Town Center area, which is on the border of Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach. Read about the Beaches Town Center in my post on Must Do’s in Jacksonville, Florida.
All around the outside of the hotel are murals. There are shapes, lines, curly q’s, and even a whale! These two pictures show my two favorite spots on the building!
Congaree and Penn Hut (11830 Old Kings Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32219)
According to their website, Congaree and Penn is “a Florida farm dedicated to agriculture & culinary endeavors, and gathering the community to enjoy both.” My family and I have been several times, and we love the open air and yummy food they serve at Congaree and Penn. In addition to the beautiful grounds to take pictures on, the “hut” that houses their kitchen, taproom and restrooms makes a beautiful silver backdrop for pictures.
Walt Disney World Walls
The happiest place on earth boasts MANY Instagram worth walls. I would guess there are at least 30! I’ll just cover a few of our favorites.
The Purple Wall/Galactic Wall
When you are in Magic Kingdom, on the way into Tomorrowland, look to the right, near the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. You won’t be able to miss the giant purple wall. There are two sections for taking out of this world pictures: the galactic part with geometric designs on it, as well as a solid purple section.
Popsicle Wall/Checkerboard Wall
If you get a chance to visit Andy’s backyard at Hollywood Studios, be sure to ride Toy Story Mania (it usually has a long wait, so we always use a Fast Pass on it). This is the only way to see these two amazing walls! When you first get outside after getting off the ride, the popsicle wall will be on your left. A few steps further and you will see the checkerboard wall.
Moss Wall
Moss Walls can be found in Animal Kingdom, in the land of Pandora. There are many, many moss walls, so just pick your fave and go for it! There’s a quieter area if you turn right when you come out of the Windtraders shop (which you will be lead into if you ride Flight of Passage).
Bubblegum Wall
This fun wall can be found as you exit the classic ride Spaceship Earth at Epcot. You can’t miss it. It’s a goal of mine to remember some bubble gum to use for a picture for this wall (though fun fact: Disney doesn’t sell gum anywhere on property)!
Disney Springs Orange Bird Wall
This is one of my absolute FAVORITES! I love the Orange Bird because he represents all things Florida. He was created as a mascot when the Florida Citrus Commission became the sponsors of the Tiki Room in Magic Kingdom, in 1970. He was on display until 1987 when two companies parted ways. However, the Orange Bird made a comeback in 2012, for which I am very grateful!
I love this wall because you don’t have to be in a theme park to go to it!
BUT, what if you don’t have access to these fun walls in Florida?!
Do not fret, my pets! You can create your own Instagram worthy wall at home. Read on to find 4 great ways to make beautiful do it yourself walls in your abode.

Vinyl Tablecloth Wall
Say what?!! Yes friends! Those cheap vinyl tablecloths your Grandma used to have covering her table make great backdrops for pictures….and they are cheap! I recently picked this one up at Target around Memorial Day. I dressed my kids in their patriotic clothes, gave them cute sunglasses and …..well, I’ll let you judge for yourself!

Chalkboard Wall
When my husband and I first moved into our current home, I asked him to make our entryway wall a chalkboard wall. He reluctantly agreed and though it took most of a weekend, we have used it SO much! Every time we have a child’s birthday party, he draws them some chalk art that matches the theme of the party. So, why not make a cool geometric pattern on the chalkboard wall?
Coloring Pages/Mickey Wall
This last idea is so brilliant! During the COVID-19 quarantine, my friend Kelly printed coloring pages she found on Google (so they didn’t cost anything, just printer paper and ink), and then let her kids color to their hearts content! It took up a lot of time (mom win!), and in the end they had a beautiful wall! So fun and creative. I plan on doing this when my kiddos start driving me crazy this summer! Find Kelly on Instagram – she’s all things Disney style and tips for Disney trips!
